“Chronic middle ear problems in children have not diminished, despite the number of antibiotics being used to treat them. We’ve created a whole new kind of problem. We’ve used antibiotics so excessively in the first year of life we’ve depressed the development of the child’s immune system.” Walter Belenky, M.D.

Most parents are frustratingly familiar with ear infections. Ear infections are the most common reason for trips to the pediatrician according to webMD. Every year in the U.S. 30 million kids are in the doctors office with an ear infection.

Ear infections are caused when the middle ear is not properly ventilated by the eustachian tube. The fluid builds up over time causing the middle ear to to become warm, damp and stagnant allowing until it becomes more susceptible to infection, just like standing water.

Antibiotics treat the infection but not the reason that the infection is present, so the ear infections usually come back. It’s not uncommon for a child to be on antibiotics 12 times before the age of 2, which greatly diminishes the child’s immune system. If the ear infections continue to come back the next course of action from a medical perspective is to force the ears to drain by surgically putting in tubes.

Why not correct the cause?

Natural Ear Infection Treatment

Misalignments in the top two bones in the neck, which is often caused by birth trauma, have been shown to affect the ability of the eustachian tube to open and close correctly. This provides an excellent environment for bacteria to thrive and multiply, creating an ideal setting for chronic ear infections.

Before taking another round of maybe-they’ll-work-and-maybe-they-won’t antibiotics or undergoing a drastic procedure like surgery, consider Upper Cervical. Upper Cervical is a non-invasive way to help your child with chronic ear infections. A study published in the Journal of Clinical Chiropractic Pediatrics indicates that there is a strong correlation between upper cervical corrections and the resolution of ear infections. 332 children with chronic ear infections participated in the study. The results show that 80% of the children did not experience another ear infection within the six-month period following their initial visits.

Upper Cervical care enables the ear to open and drain which, in turn, allows the body to resist the buildup of fluid and possible infection. Many children develop their own antibodies and recover quickly and naturally without the use of unnecessary antibiotics and tubes. The discomfort of chronic ear infections, lost days of schools for children, and lost days of work for parents can become a thing of the past.

The Upper Cervical procedure is very gentle. There is no cracking, popping or anything that will hurt or cause pain to your baby.
